Base Kigali, Rwanda
Company Type Space software
Core Discipline Orbital mechanics
Stage Active development

A software company for orbital mechanics.

KNOWN is not a space agency, satellite operator, or launch provider. It is an engineering organisation building simulation infrastructure for researchers, aerospace teams, and institutions that need orbital mechanics they can interrogate.

The first public product is a simulation platform. The larger ambition is earned in phases, not claimed in advance.

Visible is not the same as known.

Space is visible to everyone and understood deeply by relatively few. KNOWN is built around that gap. The name is a technical statement: make orbital behavior known as a verified result, not only as an image on a screen.

Build. Verify. State the stage.

KNOWN uses a deliberate sequence because simulation credibility is easy to damage and hard to recover. The platform advances only when the current physics layer can support the next one.

01

Build

One physical system at a time.

A system is implemented, tested, and documented before another layer is added on top of it.

02

Verify

Validation decides what is complete.

A feature is not treated as finished because it renders. It has to survive comparison against independent reference data.

03

Communicate

Stage is stated directly.

Readers should know what exists, what is in development, and what depends on later milestones without having to infer it.

Built in Kigali. Oriented globally.

KNOWN Corporation was founded in Kigali, Rwanda. Rwanda launched RWASAT-1 in 2019, established the Rwanda Space Agency by law in 2021, and joined the Artemis Accords in 2022.

The company began from a narrow problem: professional orbital simulation tools are often inaccessible to teams that need technical depth without heavy institutional infrastructure.

Software first. Research next. Hardware earned.

The later phases depend on the earlier phases producing trust, revenue, and technical capability. The sequence is the point.

Phase 01
2025-2026
Simulation Platform

Release the first KNOWN simulation platform and establish validation credibility with institutional users.

Phase 02
2027-2029
Research Services

Expand into orbital analysis and satellite mission planning after the software has earned technical trust.

Phase 03
2030-2032
Hardware Capability

Build the organisational capability to contribute to hardware only after the earlier phases can sustain it.

The African space sector is active. The software layer needs depth.

KNOWN is one company working on one layer of the space economy: simulation and analysis software. That is narrower than claiming to solve an ecosystem, and it is the correct claim.
